With just over two months to our opening on Thursday, May 20th, we would like to bring you up to date with information on our updated website and how we will be operating this season.
As we mentioned in our previous newsletter, our communications team has been working on changes to our web site www.cirenopenair.org.uk.
The new website is now up and running. The main changes are improvements to the booking system and reducing the time and effort required to make your swim session bookings. There are also changes the look and feel of the website, particularly around being able to find the swim sessions you want to book. If you use a mobile device, you should also find it easier to navigate the site.
If you do not live in Cirencester and you are thinking of coming to visit the town, we have added a new section on other attractions in and around the town that you can visit while you are here for your swim. Go to cirenopenair.org.uk/visitor/attractions for more details.
Swim Session Booking
With Covid-19 still at the forefront of people's minds, we will be operating the pre-booking system we used last season. This system enables us to conform with government guidelines and our own risk assessment for safe operation of the pool.
The UK government has indicated that social distancing measures currently in place will be lifted on June 21st. We hope this will happen and we are actively working on revised operating plans for the lifting of restrictions. However, the earliest any new operating plans will come into force is July 1st.
The main changes in the booking system are:
Remove the requirement to create an account or login to an account before making a booking. This season you will just have to enter your name, email address so that we can send you your ticket and a mobile number for track and trace purposes.
Added a new lunchtime individual swim, Monday through Sunday
Small increases in the capacities of most swims except Aqua Aerobics and Inclusive Swims.
An extra Aqua Aerobics session. Now there will be 2 morning sessions on Mondays and Fridays and an evening session on Wednesdays.
Inclusive Swims - You can now bring a 'Swim Buddy' if you need help in the pool. This is at no additional cost.
Bookings for swim slots will open up 8 days in advance of the session
Please note that before booking a swim session, make sure you can attend as we cannot offer refunds for cancellations or no shows. The reason is that a significant percentage of your entry fee goes on card processing fees which we cannot recover, and in addition, we would have to pay an additional fee if we provided a refund. If you cannot make a session, please remeber to cancel your booking so that someone else can use your spot.
A reminder that if you want to purchase a season ticket, they go on sale 1st April. Season tickets must be purchased online via the website at cirenopenair.org.uk/season-tickets
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we cannot yet offer the pool for private hire in the evenings. The trustees will be monitoring the situation as the season goes on. If it is felt that it is safe and we have sufficient resources (i.e. lifeguards) in place we will look to offer pool hire again. However, there is no guarantee this will happen this season.
Watch out for further updates as we get closer to the start of the season and don't forget you can also follow us on Social Media, click on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram links at the top of this email.
