Sauna: Before Your Visit

Q. How should I get ready for my session?

A. Please shower before using the sauna and plunge pools, either at home or in our showers when you arrive. We’d also ask you to arrive around 10 minutes before your session starts so you have time to check in, change and shower, and get the most out of your time with us.

Q. What should I bring?

A. Please shower before using the sauna and plunge pools, either at home or in our showers when you arrive. We’d also ask you to arrive around 10 minutes before your session starts so you have time to check in, change and shower, and get the most out of your time with us.

A. To make the most of your session, we recommend bringing:

  • Swimwear
  • Flip flops or sliders for walking between the pool, sauna and plunge pools
  • Two towels: one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry off with
  • A water bottle
  • A robe or warm layers to wrap up in between rounds

We’re an open air pool, so dress for the weather! Wearing your costume under your clothes makes changing nice and quick. If you forget anything, our Tuck Shop sells second-hand costumes and towels, stock permitting.

Q. Can I bring food and drink?

A. Yes, you’re welcome to bring soft drinks and snacks to enjoy around the pool, but please don’t take them into the sauna or plunge pools. As we’re a zero-waste site, please take all your rubbish away with you.

We don’t allow alcohol or glass at the pool at any time. Alcohol and saunas don’t mix and can increase the risk of accidents, so we will refuse entry to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Q. Where are you and where can I park?

A. You’ll find us on Riverside Walk, Cirencester GL7 2EF (the footpath from Thomas Street to Barton Lane). There’s no road access to the pool, so please park in one of the nearby pay and display car parks: Old Station, Sheep Street or Abbey Grounds. See our Location & Parking FAQs for more.
