Upcoming Projects

Pool Basin
The next big project is likely to be the refurbishment of the pool basin.
We are doing wall and tile repairs every year but we need a full survey and potentially wall reinforcement and a full re-lining and tiling. This will keep the pool watertight and with the edging stones resealed prevent water from getting behind the walls and damaging the structure.
There are some extensive areas that need replastering now that will help as a trial for more extensive work next winter. The survey will help define the scope of works but we anticipate that this project is likely to cost at least £50k in 2025.
Family Play Area
Having secured the pool’s surface structure, the trustees will be turning their attention to the last of the buildings from the 1970s which are at the far end of the pool. Our aim is to develop this space into a family play area, with particularly for emphasis on parents and younger children who will be using the Little Pool.
We are looking forward to working with our wonderful volunteer architect from Christopher Stanley, who will draw up plans with us and steer us through this last phase of the redevelopment. Right now, we don’t yet know what this phase is likely to cost and we won’t be fundraising for this until the critical repairs to the pool’s basin and surrounding terrace have been completed.
